Photography workshop 1 to 1 Snowdonia

Private photography workshop, including an overnight wild camp in Snowdonia Starting in Ogwen Valley on a Saturday lunchtime we start our journey uphill into the Snowdonia mountains. We will make our way to Castell Y Gwynt on the Glyderau to take in sunset. We will set up a wild camp close by and enjoy some food and hot drinks. We will then continue photography into the night and hopeful enjoy some clear starry skies! In the morning we can make our way to the Cantilever stone for some sunrise photography. It is also possible to photograph Tryfan and the Snowdon range from this location. We can then head back down to valley and go and enjoy breakfast at a local cafe. The course will be fully guided by a qualified Mountain Leader (myself) throughout the duration of the trip Things i will cover: Planning to shoot the stars/milky way- useful apps and tools Choosing the best settings to photograph the stars Manually focusing in the dark- tips and tricks Getting the best composition Light painting - using head torches and other light to illuminate the scene Equipment you will need: A fairly new DSLR/Mirrorless camera Wide angle lens of at 24mm or wider with aperture of F2.8 or wider Sturdy Tripod Memory Card Head torch and spare batteries Drinking water and food for the duration Camera batteries Intervalometer / shutter release (useful) Warm clothes (inc hats & gloves) & hiking boots Winter rated sleeping bag/tent/mat hiking poles Jet boil/stove for hot drinks food Clear skies are preferred but the weather here is Snowdonia is not guaranteed! We will keep in touch and try to arrange for the best weekend to get the most out of the conditions. personal kit Insurance and transportation is not included Post processing tuition (photoshop/lightroom/stacking programs) is not included in the course, however i will advise on relevant tutorials
