Join us as castaways on a remote Welsh island for an incredible photography masterclass adventure! With: GARETH MON JONES- Landscape and Astro photographer KAT LAWMAN -Astro photographer GARY JONES - Wildlife photographer Information About Bardsey Bardsey Island is a wild Welsh island located 2 miles off the Llŷn Peninsula. With a rich wildlife, dramatic coastline and fascinating history. In 2023 Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island) received International Dark Sky Sanctuary certification by the International Dark Skies Association (IDA). This makes Enlli the first site in Europe to achieve this status. Bardsey is renowned for its wildlife and is a perfect place to see choughs, grey seals, puffins and manx shearwaters. There have been 310 species of birds recorded on the island. The Bardsey Island workshop is self-catering. Welcome meal provided- all other supplies will need to be bought with you Café- The island does have a small café where a few supplies can be purchased and meals pre ordered Accommodation We have access to 2 of Bardsey Islands grade 2 listed properties for the duration of the workshop- these are called Hendy and Nant and are next door to each other ALL rooms are single beds in SHARED rooms- we can’t allocate single occupancy rooms There is no electricity or wifi on Bardsey island The accommodation will have a gas cooker, a solar powered fridge freezer, all cooking and cleaning utensils, crockery The water supply to the property comes from the mountain spring There are no showers on the island- warm water bowl or sea dip! Composting toilets- usually in out building Kit List DSLR/Mirrorless camera Wide angle lens from 14-24mm for landscape and an aperture F2.8 or wider for astrophotography Zoom lenses suitable for wildlife photography Sturdy Tripod Memory Card Head torch and spare batteries Camera batteries Power banks to charge head torches, camera batteries & phones for 7 nights Warm and waterproof clothing Towels and washing kit The boat fair over to the island is £60 per person and is in addition to the tour price and paid directly to the boat owner- we can get this arranged for you- the boat will only cross in good weather Parking is £20 per week and is located at Cwrt farm- this is payable direct to the farmer G Roberts on arrival and there is no need to pre book. We can’t guarantee a sail home day on Saturday 30th August- so please keep a few days free afterwards for contingency. www.bardsey.org/essential-information

Non Refundable deposit. - Remaining amount of workshop refundable up to 60 days prior to workshop- otherwise non refundable thereafter.
